Dance Events

A place to celebrate, connect and simply have fun

Lovis Dance Events bring young people with disabilities and their caregivers together for an evening of fun, friendship and belonging. With music, dancing, dinner, photos and plenty of celebration, everyone is invited to show up exactly as they are and enjoy the night.

More than a Dance

For many young people with disabilities, opportunities to simply get together with friends, celebrate and be part of a community can be limited. Our dances create more of those opportunities, with the support and flexibility that allow everyone to participate in the way that works for them.

Made for You

Our dances are designed for young people ages 12–22 with disabilities or chronic illnesses. Come as you are and enjoy the evening in whatever way feels right for you.

For Caregivers Too

Parents and caregivers are always invited. They're part of the Lovis community too, and the evening is a chance for them to connect, relax and enjoy time with others who understand.

Enjoy It Your Way

Dance all night, hang out with friends, take photos or step away when you need a break. There's no right way to enjoy a Lovis dance.

FAQS

Nothing! Dance events are completely free for each student and up to two parents or caregivers.

Not necessarily. Students may attend independently as long as they do not need medical care or treatment administered during the event. We do require emergency contact information for every student attending without a parent or caregiver.
Parents and caregivers are always welcome to stay. We know these events can be a chance for you to connect with other families and enjoy the evening too.

Our dances are designed for the student and up to two parents or caregivers. Because space is limited, we ask that siblings and friends attend only when they are serving in a caregiver or support role for the student.

We provide a quieter space away from the music and activity for anyone who needs a break. Students are welcome to step away and rejoin the celebration whenever they're ready.

When students arrive, they'll check in and receive a personalized name tag and lanyard. From there, the evening is theirs. They can hit the dance floor, grab something from the buffet, take photos, spend time with friends or simply hang out and enjoy the music.
There is no set agenda and no expectation to participate in any particular way. Some students dance all night. Some walk around, visit or listen to the music. The only goal is to enjoy the evening in whatever way feels right for them.

Absolutely. If your student has dietary restrictions, food preferences or simply feels more comfortable with familiar foods, you're welcome to bring something for them.

Yes. We choose accessible venues and make sure there's plenty of room on the dance floor for everyone, including those who use wheelchairs or other mobility devices.

Yes. Our dances are open to eligible young people through age 22, including those who have graduated or are participating in Extended Services.

Wear whatever makes you feel ready to celebrate. Some students love dressing up, while others are more comfortable keeping it casual.
