Logan had a deep respect for first responders and a special connection with working K9s. Each year in honor of his birthday, Lovis provides funding for a custom-fitted protective vest for an actively serving K9, helping protect a dog that spends every day helping protect others.
Logan met his first working K9 during a visit to the White House. Woodin was a Secret Service dog trained to detect explosives. It was the first of many encounters Logan would have with working K9s and their handlers over the years, adding to a lifelong admiration for military members and first responders.
Today, Lovis celebrates Logan's birthday by helping protect a K9 in his honor.
Lovis provides protective vests to working K9s, helping provide critical equipment that can be difficult for departments to fund.
These aren’t ordinary vests. Each vest is custom-fitted and designed to protect against bullets and blade attacks, while allowing the dog to move freely and regulate its body temperature while working.
K9 Protection began as a way to celebrate Logan’s birthday and continues his love of working K9s and deep respect for those who serve alongside them.
Know a working K9 that could benefit from protective equipment? Anyone can nominate a K9 for the K9 Protection gift. Nominations are open year-round.
