Make-A-Wish Foundation

Sponsorship of a child with a medical illness

The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.

In May 2005, Logan was granted his wish to meet the President of the United States of America through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. When he learned that there was a three-year waiting list to meet the President, he decided to instead use his wish to visit Washington D.C. The trip was a life-changing experience for Logan. Not only did he have an amazing adventure, making new friends at the Capitol Police Department and throughout D.C., but it was also during this trip that Logan first discovered Elvis Presley in an exhibit at the National Archives titled, “The President Meets the King.” Logan maintained his relationship with the Capital Police Department for the rest of his life. Logan had such an impact on the Capitol Police that the flag raised at the U.S. Capital the day Logan passed was flown in his honor.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation made a major impact on Logan’s life. Our goal is to sponsor the wish of a child, who, like Logan, is fascinated by American history and dreams of one day meeting the President of the United States or visiting Washington, D.C.
