The Lovis Foundation Elects New Members to its Board of Directors

New Board Member John Fowler and Associate Board Member Katherine Crouse to Further the Mission of the Foundation by Promoting Uplifting Initiatives

CINCINNATI, JANUARY 8, 2018 – The Lovis Foundation, a Cincinnati-based non-profit, today announced the election of John Fowler and Katherine Crouse to its Board of Directors. John joins as a Board Member while Katherine will serve as Associate Board Member. The Associate Board position is a one-year commitment open to a young person between the ages of 16 and 23 who can demonstrate a connection to the disability community.

The Lovis Foundation honors the life of a Cincinnati native and charismatic young man named Logan Brinson. In spite of his many medical and physical challenges, Logan was always eager to reach out and help anyone in need. During his 19 years on this earth, Logan’s joyous spirit had a positive impact on everyone he met. The mission of The Lovis Foundation is to continue Logan’s legacy by promoting charitable initiatives that celebrate individuality, inspire compassion and encourage others to shine.

“I am thrilled to welcome John and Katherine to the Board,” said Rene Brinson, Founder and President of The Lovis Foundation. “Their skills and experiences align perfectly with our mission and I am confident that they will greatly contribute to the success of the Foundation in the coming year.”

The new Board members will be responsible for executing the mission of The Lovis Foundation, including fundraising to support initiatives that reflect Logan’s passions: the arts, American history, first responders and community outreach.

John Fowler (Board of Directors)

John works in training and community development for a technology company in Cincinnati. Logan’s mission to spread joy and help others develop their passions inspired John to further his impact in the community. Since learning about Logan, John has worked with several non-profits in the Cincinnati area, including Interfaith Hospitality Network, The Ohio Valley Multiple Sclerosis Society and Brewhaus Dog Bones. He is very excited to join The Lovis Foundation Board and continue to make a difference in the lives of others.

Katherine Crouse (Associate Board Member)

Katherine is a junior at Turpin High School in Cincinnati with a passion for music and giving back. As a volunteer for Stepping Stones Ohio, she helped create opportunities for those with disabilities. She believes music is the most powerful way to spread a message and hopes to use The Lovis Foundation as a platform to share her love of music with others. She is honored for the opportunity to make a positive impact through the Foundation.

Lovis Foundation Board members volunteer their time and talents to further the impact of the Foundation not only in the local community, but also nationwide. Recent initiatives supported by the Lovis Foundation include funding opportunities for differently-able youth to build independent skills and bond with their peers outside of school and without the usual presence of parents and caregivers, drama scholarships for youth in Cincinnati through the Dramakinetics Logan Brinson Star Fund, sponsoring a child with a medical illness through the Make-A-Wish Foundation and providing a custom-fit K9 bulletproof vest for a working police dog.
