Associate Board Member Application Information

The Lovis Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to spreading joy, was founded in 2016 to honor the memory of a charismatic young man named Logan Brinson. Lovis aims to continue his legacy by promoting charitable initiatives that celebrate individuality, inspire compassion and encourage others to shine.

While our directors and board members have professional experience in a variety of fields including special education, healthcare, management, marketing, fine art and finance, we recognize the importance of multiple perspectives in our work. We created the Associate Board Member position so the voice of the student would be an integrated part of how we spread joy. Each year, we seek a volunteer between the ages of 16 and 23 to join our Board. This yearlong commitment is open to all; we only ask that applicants be able to demonstrate a connection to the disability community.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Associate Board Member will be an active member of our team for one year. While this position is unpaid, we offer our Associate Board Member the chance to work directly with our executive team, participate in Board meetings, collaborate on projects that fit their interests and provide valuable insight on decisions that influence the direction of the Foundation. The Associate Board Member will spend approximately 2-4 hours on Lovis-related work each month. We are flexible when it comes to working around school, work and other commitments.

Opportunities available to our Associate Board Member could include:

  • Engaging audiences via social media and content strategy
  • Organizational outreach with our community partners
  • Assisting in event planning and fundraising

We recommend students interested in nonprofit management, communications, leadership advocacy and/or public relations apply. While we are open to applicants from across the United States, preference will be given to those in the greater Cincinnati area to allow for better engagement opportunities with the rest of the team.
