Overview
The Lovis Foundation honors students who are going above and beyond to create a positive culture in their schools and communities. Our student awards give school personnel and others a way to recognize young people who are often overlooked. There is no academic requirement because the awards focus on what the young person is doing to make a difference. Selected students share their stories via video.
The Lovis Extraordinary Student Award honors 5th-8th grade students who make a difference in their community by promoting kindness, being selfless, demonstrating compassion and/or giving to the less fortunate.
The Lovis Hero Award honors students in 9th grade – extended who have overcome obstacles to make a difference in their community. The obstacle may be, but not limited to, poverty, mental illness, homelessness, obesity, disability, extreme bullying, abuse, violence or challenges related to the pandemic.

About the Lovis Foundation
The Lovis Foundation honors the life of a charismatic, uniter of hearts named Logan Brinson. Logan had significant medical challenges resulting from an undiagnosed genetic disorder. Each day was a struggle, consumed with needles, medications, surgical procedures and diagnostic testing, tube-feeding, in-home nursing care and a long list of diagnoses. In spite of it all, during his 19 years on this earth, Logan’s joyous spirit had a positive impact on everyone he met. He used his love of Elvis to raise monies for local non-profits. He was interested in politics and increased awareness for people with disabilities. Logan lived life to the fullest. Our mission is to continue his legacy by promoting charitable initiatives that celebrate individuality, inspire compassion and encourage others to shine. By funding community programs as unique and imaginative as Logan himself, the Lovis Foundation makes a difference in the lives of youth with disabilities, first responders and many others.

I wanted to nominate my son but he just turned 13 in January. Is this the last nomination chance.
Thank you so much for your interest in the awards. We’ve got two awards. The Extraordinary Student Award is for kids in middle school and the Lovis Hero Award is for kids in high school. If he’s 13, just choose the right one based on his current grade. We’re looking forward to learning more about your son!
